Back- Teaming Up To Make A Difference In The Community, and Giving Away A Brand
New 2013 Hyundai Accent!
Ashtabula, December 15, 2013 - Local Car Dealer For The People®,
Todd Nassief, from Nassief Honda and his sister, Marybeth Nassief from Nassief
Ford Toyota Hyundai have exciting news, "Nassief Automotive Group is
thrilled today to be teaming up with Goodwill Industries Serving NE Ohio and NW
Pennsylvania, the Animal Protective League, along with Ashtabula County’s 16 Food Pantries to help
raise donations, and give away a BRAND NEW 2013 Hyundai Accent!”
The Nassief Automotive Group has
been giving back to the community since 1955, when the family business was
started by its founder, George D. Nassief. The drive, beginning tomorrow,
December 16, 2013, will simply ask that people contribute to one or all of the
three reputable charities in Ashtabula County and with each donation, you will
get a chance to win a NEW CAR on May 3, 2014!
One box or one bag of donations equals one ticket!
"We're excited to continue giving back to the community
that has supported us through the past 59 years! We are especially proud to
support these local agencies because of their unwavering commitment to helping
those in need right here at home. Nassief Automotive Group’s vision is to help
educate our community on the positive impact each of these agencies provides,
in hopes that they will continue to support them even after the giveaway,”
states Marybeth Nassief.
“We are asking people
in the community to clean out their closets, open their checkbooks or
contribute food for local families or pets, for those currently struggling in
Ashtabula County. It’s important to us
that all donations will stay local and support these very deserving agencies”,
said Todd Nassief.
About Goodwill Industries:
Goodwill, a nonprofit leader in providing job training and
education for people with barriers to employment uses textiles and other
household items as a means of training to develop the skills necessary for
employment. They sell the items in their retail stores to fund these programs.
“We are so grateful and excited to jumpstart our donation season with the car
giveaway promotion. Last year’s promotion yielded high donations which allowed
us to help more of our friends in the community find employment - becoming
independent, self-sustaining individuals able to contribute to the local
economy”, said Blake Johnston, Marketing and Development Manager at Goodwill.
About Animal Protective League:
The Animal Protective League provides temporary homes to the
parentless pets of Ashtabula County until they can find their best possible
"furever" home. Along with this important mission, the APL promotes
the spaying and neutering of pets and responsible pet ownership. Justin Sartori, President of the APL Board,
said, “We are grateful to be included in the Nassief Car Giveaway! Not only
will it help provide much needed food and supplies for our shelter, it is a
chance to expose the community to our new Board Members who are determined to
make our shelter “The Place” to shop locally for your next dog or cat.”
About Country Neighbor in Orwell:
Country Neighbor in Orwell is Ashtabula County’s designated
Distribution Partner and Food Bank for all 16 of the Food Pantries in Ashtabula
County. With close to half of our local
residents in Ashtabula County relying on food stamps to help make ends meet,
there is a great need right now for canned and non-perishable food donations to
help offset the cutbacks going on in Washington D.C. “All 16 local pantries are experiencing an
increase in providing for our elderly population on fixed incomes to help meet
their needs. The cutbacks going on now are actually from 2009, and up to 40 billion
dollars of new cuts will take place over the next decade. So needless to say, being included in this
promotion is perfect timing for our clients”, said Barb Klingensmith, Executive
Director of Country Neighbor.
The Giveaway:
“THE NEW 2013 HYUNDAI ACCENT GIVEAWAY DONATION DRIVE” is
open to everyone 18 or older. To enter, participants must make a donation to
Goodwill, The Animal Protective League, Country Neighbor, or either Nassief
dealership in Ashtabula and Jefferson from now through April 28. There is no
limit to the number of bags/boxes you may donate!
For each bag or box of donations received, one entry is
given to win the Hyundai Accent from the Nassief Automotive Family.

Sponsors for Back-To-School Giveaway!
Hello everyone! We are currently in search of a few companies and or individuals to sponsor our 2013 Back-To-School Giveaway! This year we are going to try to help 500+ needy students/families go back to school with the proper supplies.
Every year, thousands of students enter the classroom without the tools they need to learn. Many teachers even pay out of pocket so their students do not feel embarrassed or left out. According to the 2007 National Assessment of Educational Progress, only 16 percent of fourth-grade students eligible for free lunch score at proficient levels in reading, compared with 44 percent of fourth graders whose family incomes are above the eligibility cutoff for free lunch. These numbers represent a large disconnect between families with resources and families without.
Goodwill would like to help break down this barrier and provide backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, binders etc... to local grade-school students in need. We all know that education starts at youth and Goodwill specializes in helping people of all ages with barriers. If we provide our local children with the tools they need to be productive when they are young, they are more likely to grow up to be successful adults.

Donations of school supplies or monetary donations are accepted and will be used exclusively for this event - nothing else.
